Troops return to Basra

- Air India has joined EPFO for the social security service of its employees. Air India has voluntarily registered under Section-1 (4) of the EPF and MP Act, 1952.
- This social security is available for the contribution of about 7,453 workers filed by Air India through the EPFO for the month of December 13-01-2021, which is published in the Gazette with effect from 01-12-2021.
- The Renewable Energy Development Agency of India (IREDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa Shipbuilding Company (GSL) to provide technical and financial expertise in the Upper Solar Power Project.
- These two PSUs operate under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Defense respectively.
- The agreement was signed by IREDA Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Pradeep Kumar Das, GSL Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Bharath Bhushan Nagpal in the presence of senior officials.
- Under the agreement, IREDA will assist in setting up a solar power project on the top floor of GSL's headquarters in Vasco da Gama, Goa.
- Once this solar power project is set up, GSL's electricity costs will be reduced and its carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced.
