• 3-வது தேசிய தண்ணீர் விருதுகளை, மத்திய ஜல் சக்தித்துறை அமைச்சர் திரு.கஜேந்திர சிங் ஷெகாவத், புதுதில்லியில் அறிவித்தார். 
• 2020-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான இந்த விருதில், நீர்வளத் திட்டங்களை சிறப்பாக செயல்படுத்தியதற்கான சிறந்த மாநிலங்களுக்கான பிரிவில், தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு மூன்றாம் பரிசு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தப் பிரிவில் உத்தரப்பிரதேசம் முதல்பரிசையும், ராஜஸ்தான் இரண்டாம் பரிசையும் பெறுகின்றன.
• தென் மாநிலங்களில், இத்திட்டத்தை சிறப்பாக செயல்படுத்திய சிறந்த கிராமப் பஞ்சாயத்துக்கான பிரிவில், செங்கல்பட்டு மாவட்டம் வெள்ளப்புத்தூர் ஊராட்சி 2-ம் பரிசையும், சிறந்த நகர்ப்புற உள்ளாட்சி அமைப்புகளுக்கான பிரிவில், மதுரை மாநகராட்சி 3-வது பரிசையும், சிறந்த பள்ளிக்கூடங்களுக்கான பிரிவில், காவேரிப்பட்டிணம் அரசு மகளிர் மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி முதல் பரிசையும், புதுச்சேரி, அமலோற்பவம் லூர்து அகாடமி 2-ம் பரிசையும், புதுச்சேரி மனப்பட்டு அரசு நடுநிலைப் பள்ளி 3-ம் பரிசையும் பெற உள்ளன.
• சிறந்த தொழிற்சாலைகளுக்கான பிரிவில், தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள ஹுண்டாய் மோட்டார் இந்தியா நிறுவனம் (ஹுண்டாய் கார் தொழிற்சாலை)-க்கு இரண்டாம் பரிசும், சிறந்த தொண்டு நிறுவன பிரிவில் கன்னியாகுமரி விவேகானந்தா கேந்திரா-வுக்கு 2-ம் பரிசும் வழங்கப்பட உள்ளது.
• இதனிடையே, நீர் மேலாண்மை குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்திய சிறந்த ஊடகமாக நெட்வொர்க் 18 குழுமம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. நீரை சிக்கனமாக சேகரிப்பது, நீர் வீணாவதை தவிர்ப்பது உள்ளிட்டவை தொடர்பாக, நெட்வொர்க் 18 குழுமம் மிஷன் பானி எனும் முயற்சியை முன்னெடுத்தது. 
• தமிழ் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு பிராந்திய மொழிகளிலும் ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்ட இந்த விழிப்புணர்வு முயற்சியை பாராட்டும் விதமாக, நெட்வொர்க் 18 குழுமத்திற்கு மத்திய அரசு விருது அறிவித்து கவுரவித்துள்ளது.

• The 3rd National Water Awards were announced by the Union Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in New Delhi.
• In this award for the year 2020, Tamil Nadu has been declared the third prize in the category for the best states for the best implementation of water resources projects. Uttar Pradesh won the first prize and Rajasthan the second prize in this category.
• In the Southern States, Chengalpattu District Vellaputhur Panchayat won the 2nd prize in the category of Best Grama Panchayat which has implemented the project best, Madurai Corporation won the 3rd prize in the category of Best Urban Local Bodies, Kaveripattinam Government Girls' High School won the first prize in the category of Best Schools, Puducherry, Implementation 2 Puducherry Manappattu Government Middle School 3rd prize is to be won.
• The second prize went to Hyundai Motor India (Hyundai Car Industry) in Tamil Nadu in the Best Industries category and the second prize went to Kanyakumari Vivekananda Kendra in the Best Charity category.
• Meanwhile, Network 18 Group has been selected as the best medium for raising awareness about water management. Network 18 Group launched an initiative called Mission Bani, which includes water saving and avoiding water wastage.
• In appreciation of this awareness initiative, which aired in various regional languages ​​including Tamil, the Central Government has announced and honored the Network 18 Group.
