- கும்மிடிப்பூண்டியை சேர்ந்த பாஸ்கரன் லதா தம்பதியின் மகன் வைத்தியநாதன் (21), இவர் தஞ்சை சாஸ்த்ரா நிகர்நிலை பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் உயிரியல் தொழில்நுட்பப் படிப் பில் இறுதி ஆண்டுபடித்து வருகிறார்.
- இவர் உயிரியல் தொழில்நுட்பத் துறையில் மேற்கொண்ட ஆராய்ச்சி குறித்த அறிக்கை, பலரின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்து வருகிறது. எலும்பு முறிவு சிகிச்சையில், முறிந்த எலும்புகள் ஒன்று கூட ஒரு மாதம் முதல் மூன்று மாதங்கள் வரை கால அவகாசம் தேவைப்படும்.
- இதனால் ஏற்படும் சிரமங்கனைத் தவிர்க்க, முறிந்த எலும்புகள் விரைந்து கூடுவதற்கான ஆராய்ச்சியை வைத்தியநாதன் தேர்வு செய்தார்.
- இவரது ஆராய்ச்சியின் பலனாக, எலும்புகளை விரைந்துகூட வைக்கும் 'கய்டோசன்' என்ற பயோ பாலிமருடன், தொற்று பாதிப்பு ஏற்படாமல் இருக்க சில்வர் நானோ துகள்கள் கலந்து தயாரித்த சுலவையை, முறிந்த எலும்புகளுக்கு இடையே திரப்ப வேண்டும்.
- அப்படி செய்தால், முறிந்த எலும்புகள், 15 நாள்களுக்குள் ஒன்றுகூடும் என ஆராய்ச்சி அறிக்கையை 2020-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட்மாதம், பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் வைத்தியநாதன் சமர்ப்பித்தார்.

- Vaithiyanathan (21), son of Baskaran Latha couple from Gummidipoondi, is a final year student of Biotechnology at Tanjore Shastra Direct University. His report on his research in the field of biotechnology has attracted the attention of many. - To avoid the inconvenience caused by this, Vaithiyanathan chose to do research on the rapid accumulation of broken bones. As a result of his research, the bone marrow, a bio-polymer called 'kydosan', which is made by mixing silver nanoparticles with a bio-polymer, was used to seal between the broken bones.
- In August 2020, Vaithiyanathan submitted a research report to the university stating that the fractured bones could be reassembled within 15 days.
