- தேசிய கைத்தறி நாள், கைத்தறி நெசவாளர்களை நினைவுகூறும் வகையில் இந்தியாவில் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இதற்காக சுதேசி இயக்கம் தொடங்கப்பட்ட ஆகஸ்ட் ஏழாம் நாள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
- கைத்தறியாடை இந்தியர்களின் பாரம்பரியத்தைக் குறிக்கின்றது. சிறுதொழிலான கைத்தறி நெய்தலில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 43 இலட்சம் மக்கள் ஈடுபடுகின்றனர்.
- இது இந்தியாவின் ஊரகப் புறங்களில் அதிக வருமானத்தை தருகிறது. உலகெங்கும் உள்ள ஆடைகளில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 95% கைத்தறி ஆடைகள் இந்தியாவில் தயாரிக்கப்படுகின்றன.
- 2015ஆம் ஆண்டின் ஆகஸ்ட் ஏழாம் நாளில், இந்தியப் பிரதமரான நரேந்திர மோதி தேசிய கைத்தறி நாளை வரும் ஆண்டுகளில் இந்திய அரசு கொண்டாடும் என்று கூறி, கைத்தறித் துறைக்கான சின்னத்தை அறிவித்தார். இவ்விழாவில் கைத்தறித் துறை தொடர்பான 72 விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
- National Handloom Day is celebrated in India to commemorate handloom weavers. The seventh day of August, the day the Swadeshi movement was launched, was chosen for this.
- Handloom refers to the tradition of the Indians. About 43 lakh people are engaged in small scale handloom weaving. It brings in higher incomes in rural India. About 95% of the garments in the world are made in India.
- On August 7, 2015, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, announced the National Handloom Day, which the Government of India will celebrate in the years to come, and the logo for the handloom sector. 72 awards related to the handloom sector were presented at the festival.
