Pushkar Singh Tami sworn in as Uttarakhand Chief Minister

  • Lok Sabha MP Tirath Singh Rawat took over as Chief Minister last March following the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat, who was the Chief Minister of the BJP-ruled state for four years. 
  • At a meeting of BJP MLAs in Dehradun last evening in the presence of Central Observer Narendra Singh Tomar, Pushkar Singh Tami was elected party chief. He subsequently met with the governor and demanded the right to rule. Tami takes office at the governor's invitation
