Cabinet approves two additional railway projects to benefit seven districts in Jharkhand, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved two additional railway projects of the Ministry of Railways, totaling Rs. 6,405 crore.
- Koderma - Pargana Double Track Project (133 km) - The railway line will pass through the coal-producing mining area of Jharkhand and will be implemented as the shortest rail link between Patna and Ranchi.
- Ballari - Chikkamagaluru Double Track Project (185 km) The railway line under this project will pass through Ballari and Chitradurga districts of Karnataka and Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
- Both these projects will help in increasing the railway network significantly.
