22nd Asian Games 2026 - 5th Day
- India won a silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay at the Asian Games. The quartet of Poovamma Raju, Vishal Thennarasu, Vithya Ramraj and Manu TS claimed the silver medal with a timing of 3:14.46.
- Indian track and field athlete Seema won a landmark bronze medal for the country in women’s 10,000m final at the Asian Games. Seema has won a medal for India in the event after 16 years, a remarkable feat after overcoming an intense duel. This is only the third ever medal for India at this event in the continental games.
- Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won the bronze medal in the mixed team skeet event. The Indian pair finished third with a score of 44 in the final.
- Indian wushu player Roshibina Devi Naorem signed off with a silver medal in the women’s 60kg sanda event after losing 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final. It is third Asian Games medal for Roshibina, who won a silver at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and a bronze at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
- Indian rowers Satnam Singh and Salman Khan win bronze in the men’s double sculls event and this is becoming part of India’s first-ever men’s double sculls podium finish at the continental Games.
- Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty faltered against higher-ranked opponents as the Indian men’s team signed off with a bronze medal after going down 1-3 to nemesis China in the semifinals of the Asian Games.
- Jay Meena secured India’s first-ever soft tennis medal at the Asian Games, fetching a bronze after losing to Japan’s Takuya Kurosaka in the men’s singles semifinals in Nagoya.
- Star Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu finally completed her medal collection, winning the elusive Asian Games silver in the women’s 49kg.
