Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates India's First Hydrogen Train Service
- India's first hydrogen-powered train service is commencing operations today on a trial basis along the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this 10-coach train for passenger use.
- Key dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Haryana and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, attended the inauguration ceremony alongside Prime Minister Modi. School students and members of the public traveled with great enthusiasm on the train's maiden journey.
- It is noteworthy that this train has been manufactured indigenously with the aim of achieving zero carbon emissions.
- Introduced as an alternative to diesel trains, this hydrogen train is designed with technology that ensures zero carbon emissions. Since only water and steam are released during operation, it causes no environmental pollution.
