Tamil Nadu Government Orders Formation of New Curriculum Design Committee Led by Mylswamy Annadurai
- The government has constituted a new curriculum design committee to enhance the school curriculum. Former ISRO scientist Mylswamy Annadurai will serve as its chairperson.
- The committee will include 14 members, including scientist T.V. Venkateswaran, Rita John (Professor, Department of Physics, University of Madras), and Sudhanthiramuthu (former Professor, Presidency College, Chennai). The Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will serve as the member-secretary. The tenure of the members is three years.
- As the new curriculum has already been implemented for classes 1 to 3, the new committee will prepare the curriculum for classes 4 and above and submit it to the government. Based on the committee's recommendations, the new curriculum will be adopted in a phased manner for classes 4 through 12 (Plus 2).
- Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Amit Shah, launched the FCRA 2.0 portal and the e-OCI card today (30.06.2026).
- The FCRA 2.0 portal has been developed to facilitate compliance under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act and to strengthen monitoring and enforcement mechanisms. All key processes related to applications, renewals, annual returns, and other services have now been fully digitized.
- Currently, approximately 14,500 FCRA-registered organizations are operating across the country. The electronic Overseas Citizen of India (e-OCI) card is a key citizen-centric initiative aimed at transforming OCI services for the Indian diaspora worldwide through a fully digital system.
- Under this system, applicants can complete the entire OCI process online from submitting the application and uploading supporting documents to downloading the digitally generated card following approval.
