7,523.06 crores released to rural local bodies in Tamil Nadu under 15th Finance Commission
- The Central Government has released funds to the states under the grant schemes of the Fifteenth Finance Commission for the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26 to eligible Gram Panchayats, Block Panchayats and District Panchayats in the states.
- The grants provided under the 15th Finance Commission are released on the basis of the grant transfer certificate submitted by the states and the provisions specified in the operational guidelines for the utilization of grants to rural local bodies of the 15th Finance Commission, subject to fulfillment of all mandatory eligibility conditions imposed by the rural local bodies and the state governments. These details have been released by the Ministry of Finance vide a letter dated 14.07.2021.
- Accordingly, from the financial year 2014-15 to the financial year 2019-20, Tamil Nadu has been allocated Rs. 8,777.43 crore under the 15th Finance Commission, out of which Rs. 7,523.06 crore has been released as subsidy.
