India and Russia sign 16 major agreements
- Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India on a 2-day state visit. He met Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi and held talks with him. The two leaders held talks on strengthening bilateral relations.
- Thereafter, representatives from the two countries met and discussed various agreements. During the meeting, agreements were signed between India and Russia on ports, shipping, food, health, security and science in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin.
- Prime Minister Modi announced that India will soon introduce a free 30-day e-tourist visa and a 30-day group tourist visa for Russian citizens. Modi also said that the Russian side has decided to accept the framework agreement to join the international Big Cat alliance.
- Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally welcomed Putin, who landed at the Palam airport, and took him to his residence. Earlier, at the airport, Russian President Putin was given a warm welcome with the music of A.R. Rahman.
- Yesterday morning, Russian President Putin was given a formal red carpet welcome at the Presidential Palace. A military parade was also given. Putin was welcomed by President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Modi and others.
- After that, Putin went to the Mahatma Gandhi Samadhi at Rajghat in Delhi and laid a wreath and paid his respects. India-Russia have enjoyed deep friendship for the past 80 years. To further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and finalize various agreements, the India-Russia Summit is held once a year.
- Accordingly, after the conclusion of the 23rd Summit held yesterday, Russian President Putin also attended the banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu. After that, he left at 9 am and returned to Moscow.
