- IIT Madras researchers have developed and patented a low-cost blood sugar monitoring device for diabetics. They have redefined the design of the device and improved it for long-term use, while ensuring its accuracy and reliability standards.
- According to the Indian Diabetes Survey 2023 published by the Indian Council of Medical Research, 101 million people in the country are affected by diabetes. The device is reusable after collecting a blood sample, has low-power display screens and a tele-sensing system for a single-use micro-needle.
