PM Modi addresses G20 Summit 2025
- The G20 Summit began today (November 22) in Johannesburg, South Africa. The summit, which will be attended by leaders of the G20 countries, will conclude tomorrow. Speaking at the summit, Prime Minister Modi proposed integrating financial, governance and security structures in the new G20 initiative to combat drugs and terrorism.
- The priority of this initiative will be to block drug trafficking routes, disrupt illicit finances and weaken the main source of funding for terrorist organizations, Prime Minister Modi said, adding that this challenge can be met only through coordinated global action.
- Following this, he stressed the urgent need to prevent the spread and trafficking of dangerous drugs like fentanyl and to eliminate the economy that supports terrorism. In addition, Prime Minister Modi has proposed a new plan to form an emergency health committee comprising medical experts from G20 countries.
