Hinduja Group, AstraZeneca sign MoU with Tamil Nadu government
- During the European Investment Summit led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, Hinduja Group has signed a MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest Rs. 5,000 crore in electric vehicles, battery technology and spare parts manufacturing, which will provide employment to over 1,000 people.
- Moreover, AstraZeneca has announced its third industrial investment in Tamil Nadu in two years. It will expand its Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai with an investment of Rs. 176 crore.
- With this, the total investment received by Tamil Nadu during Chief Minister Stalin’s visit to the UK and Germany to attract industrial investments has increased to Rs. 13,016 crore. It is noteworthy that this has created employment for 17,813 people.
- Ahead of the UK visit, the delegation led by Chief Minister Stalin has attracted investments worth Rs 7,020 crore from Germany through 26 MoUs, creating jobs for 15,320 people. These include key sectors including aerospace, high-tech, railways, automotive and electronics.
- Singaporean President Lawrence Wang is on a 3-day visit to Delhi. He is accompanied by External Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Finance Minister Jeffrey and Commerce Minister Khan Chiu Huang.
- Singaporean PM Wang met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and others. Following this, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi yesterday. During that time, 5 key agreements were signed between India and Singapore.
- Agreements have been signed, particularly in areas such as environmentally friendly shipping, aviation training, skills training in sectors including semiconductors, satellite information exchange, banking, and investment-related information exchange.
