Central Government releases Rs.127.586 crore as 15th Finance Commission grant for rural local bodies in Tamil Nadu
- The Central Government has released Rs.127.586 crore as the first installment of the 15th Finance Commission unbundled grant for rural local bodies in Tamil Nadu for the current financial year 2025-26. (Including 2901 eligible Gram Panchayats, 74 eligible Panchayat Block Areas and 9 eligible District Panchayats).
- It has released Rs.214.542 crore to the state of Assam for the last financial year 2024-25. (Including all 2,192 eligible Gram Panchayats, 156 eligible Panchayat Block Areas and all 27 eligible District Panchayats)
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for development projects in Thar, Madhya Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that he would bow down at the feet of the revered Mother Vakdevi of Thar Bhojchala. Noting that the birth anniversary of Vishwakarma, the God of Creation, is being celebrated today, Shri Modi paid homage to Vishwakarma.
- Shri Narendra Modi said that the festive season is a time to reaffirm the mantra of Swadeshi. He said that people should ensure that whatever they buy or sell is made in India. Recalling Mahatma Gandhi's use of Swadeshi as a tool for freedom, he stressed that it should become the foundation of a developed India.
