Gaganyaan parachute test successful - ISRO announcement
- ISRO successfully conducted the first integrated air test of the system that slows down the speed of the spacecraft using parachutes for the Gaganyaan project. The new missile test of the air defense weapon system was held off the Odisha coast.
- This is a test to quickly intercept enemy aircraft and drones. This joint achievement of ISRO, Indian Air Force, DRDO, Indian Navy and Coast Guard has taken a big step in India's human spaceflight.
- This test is being conducted to slow down the speed of the spacecraft when the astronauts return to Earth. This is a test to recover the spacecraft carrying humans from space from the sea. The unmanned spacecraft test for the Gaganyaan project is to be conducted by the end of this year.
