
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announces that May 5 will soon be declared as Traders' Day in Tamil Nadu
- A Traders' Association Demand Conference was held in Maduranthakam today (May 5). In this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin participated and spoke, "Happy Traders' Day to the people of Tamil Nadu and traders. Accepting the continuous demand to declare May 5 as Traders' Day, a government order will be issued soon.
- The allowance for permanent members of the Traders' Welfare Board will be increased to Rs. 5 lakh. The period for free membership will be extended for another 6 months.
- A steering committee has been formed to set up shops in other corporations except Chennai. A similar committee will be formed for the city and panchayat governments. No fee will be charged for name boards not exceeding 9 square meters.
- The permission to operate commercial establishments 24 hours a day will be extended for another 3 years. The government is working on the basis of everything for everyone. We have made Tamil Nadu a state of peace," said M.K. Stalin.
- The Indian Navy is actively engaged in its weapons tests. The Central Defense Research Organization DRDO and the Indian Navy have successfully tested a powerful explosive weapon called MIGM.
- The test was reportedly held in Visakhapatnam. MIGM was tested under the sea with a low-level explosive. This is an underwater mine attack. It is designed to target and attack the most advanced warships and submarines of the enemy country.
- K.V. Subramanian, a former Chief Economic Advisor to the Central Government, was the Executive Director on behalf of the group of countries comprising India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Bangladesh at the IMF.
- With 6 months to go before his term ends, the central government took action to remove him from the post. The reason for his removal has not been officially announced. In this context, Parameswaran Iyer, the Executive Director of the World Bank, has been given temporary charge as India's nominated director on the IMF board.
