• 2024ம் ஆண்டின் கவனம் ஈர்க்கும் வார்த்தை 'பிரெயின் ராட்' / 2024 WORD OF THE YEAR - BRAIN ROT: இன்றைய நவீன உலகில் மூச்சு விடுவதற்கும், உணவு உண்பதற்கும் அடுத்தப்படியாக பலரது வாழ்வில் சமூக ஊடகங்கள் இன்றிமையாதாகி விட்டன. 
• பலரும் தினசரி வாழ்க்கையில் இன்ஸ்டாகிராம், பேஸ்புக் என சமூக ஊடகங்களை பயன்படுத்தவே கணிசமான நேரம் செலவிடுகின்றனர்.
• சமூக தள பயன்பாட்டுக்கு அடிமையாகும் பட்சத்தில் பலரது உடல்நலனும் அதைவிட அதிகமாக மனநலம் பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக பல்வேறு மருத்துவ ஆய்வுகள் கூறுகின்றன. 
• இந்நிலையை குறிக்கக்கூடிய பிரெயின் ராட் என்ற வார்த்தையை இந்த ஆண்டின் முக்கியமான வார்த்தையாக ஆக்ஸ்ஃபோர்டு யூனிவர்சிட்டி பிரஸ் சேர்த்துள்ளது. 
• ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட விஷயத்தை மிதமிஞ்சி பயன்படுத்துவதால் ஒரு நபரின் மன ஆரோக்கியம் அல்லது அறிவு சார்ந்த தன்மை குன்றுவதும் அது தடுக்க இயலாத ஒன்றாக கருத்தக்கூடியது என்றும் இதற்கு பொருளாக கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• 2024ம் ஆண்டுக்கான ஆறு வார்த்தைகளை தேர்தெடுத்து அவை 37,000 பேரிடம் வாக்கெடுப்புக்கு விடப்பட்டது. அதில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் பிரெயின் ராட் என்ற வார்த்தையை தேர்தடுத்துள்ளனர். 
• பிரெயின் ராட் என்ற வார்த்தை பயன்பாடு கடந்த ஆண்டை விட இந்த ஆண்டு 230 விழுக்காடு அதிகரித்து உள்ளதாக ஆக்ஸ்ஃபோர்டு யூனிவர்சிட்டி பிரஸ் கூறியுள்ளது.

• Various medical studies have shown that if people become addicted to social media, their health and mental health are affected even more. Oxford University Press has included the word "brain rot" as the word of the year. 
• It is said that the excessive use of a particular thing can lead to a decline in a person's mental health or cognitive ability.
• Six words for 2024 were selected and put to a vote by 37,000 people. Most of them chose the word "brain rot". Oxford University Press said that the use of the word "brain rot" has increased by 230 percent this year compared to last year.
