Indian Army and Cambodian Army conduct joint tabletop exercise Chinbox 2024
- The first edition of the joint tabletop exercise Chinbox between the Indian Army and Cambodian Army began today at the Overseas Training Area in Pune. The exercise will be held from 1 to 8 December 2024. The Cambodian Army contingent will consist of 20 personnel.
- The Indian Army contingent will consist of 20 personnel from the Infantry Division. Exercise Chinbox is a planning exercise aimed at joint counter-terrorism operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.
- The exercise will focus on discussions related to planning operations and the establishment of a joint training task force for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
- The exercise will also include discussions on information operations, cyber warfare, hybrid warfare, logistics and casualty management, HADR operations, etc.
- The Ministry of Defence has signed an agreement with Cochin Shipbuilding Corporation for short-term maintenance and repair (SRDD) of INS Vikramaditya on 30 November 2024. INS Vikramaditya is an Indian aircraft carrier commissioned into the Indian Navy on 30 November 2013.
- After completion of maintenance work such as refit, INS Vikramaditya will join the Indian Navy with enhanced combat capabilities. This project is an important step in upgrading the Cochin Shipbuilding Corporation, which will function as a hub for ship maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations.
