Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin hoisted the national flag at Chennai Fort Kothalam
- The 78th Independence Day of India is being celebrated on 15th today. Earlier, Chief Secretary Shivdas Meena welcomed Chief Minister Stalin who arrived at Fort Kothalam for the Independence Day function at 8.45 am.
- Chief Secretary Shivdas Meena introduced the Triforce officers, DGP Shankar Jiwal, Additional Law and Order DGP Davidson Dewasirwad and Chennai Police Commissioner Arun to the Chief Minister.

- CM Pharmacy Scheme will be implemented to provide medicines at low cost. In the first phase, 1,000 dispensaries will be opened and the Chief Minister's Protecting Arms scheme will be implemented for the welfare of ex-servicemen.
- Under this scheme, arrangements will be made for soldiers to get loans from banks up to Rs 1 crore and martyrs' pension will be increased to Rs 21 thousand.
