Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh takes charge as Commandant of National Defense Academy
- Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh today (25 May 2024) assumed charge as Flag Officer (Commandant) of the National Defense Academy. He took over from Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, who was already holding the post. An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, he was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 July 1990.
- Archery World Cup (Stage-2) is underway in South Korea. The 3-member Indian women's team won the gold by defeating the Turkish team by 232-226 points. Jyoti Sureka Vennam, Parneet Kaur and Aditi Swamy, the world's number one compound women's team, won the gold medal.
- Jyoti Sureka Vennam, Parneet Kaur and Aditi Swamy won gold in the World Cup Stage-1 held in Shanghai. At the end of last year, they won gold in the competition held in Paris. It is to be noted that Jyoti and Priyansh are going to compete for gold in mixed team in USA.
