Overall 69.46 percent votes in Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu

• Polling for 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was held in a single phase yesterday. The public enthusiastically visited the polling station from 7 am and did their democratic duty. Even when the polling ended at 6 pm, those who reached the polling station before that were given a token and allowed to vote.
• After that, the ballot boxes were sealed and sent safely to the counting centre. The Chief Election Commission of India has reported that 69.46% votes have been registered in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.
• Among them, Dharmapuri 81.48%, Kallakurichi 79.25%, Namakkal 78.16%, Salem 78.13% votes were reported. At least 53.91% votes were reported in Madhya Chennai constituency.

Indian Navy conducted exercise Purvi Lehar on the east coast

"font-family: Work Sans;">The Indian Navy conducted Exercise Purvi Lehar off the East Coast under the operational control of the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. The exercise aims to validate procedures for assessing the readiness of the Indian Navy to meet maritime security challenges in the region.

Ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces participated in the exercise. The training was conducted in several phases, including combat training in realistic scenarios and successful execution of various firings during the weapons phase, strategizing in a combat environment. 

Continuous maritime vigilance was maintained throughout the operational area as aircraft were deployed from various locations. Along with ships and logistics from the Eastern Naval Command, ships from the Indian Air Force, Andaman & Nicobar Command and Coast Guard also participated in the exercise.

The exercise imparted valuable lessons to forces operating under realistic conditions, thereby enhancing their readiness to effectively respond to maritime challenges in the region.

The successful conclusion of this exercise reaffirms the Indian Navy's commitment to meet the evolving security challenges in the maritime domain.
