• உலகளாவிய குடும்ப தினம் 2024 / GLOBAL FAMILY DAY 2024: உலகளாவிய குடும்ப தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜனவரி 1 ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச அமைதி, நல்லிணக்கம் மற்றும் இவற்றைப் பராமரிப்பதில் ஒரு குடும்பம் ஆற்றக்கூடிய பங்கின் சர்வதேச நாளாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

• GLOBAL FAMILY DAY 2024: Global Family Day is celebrated every year on January 1st as an international day of peace, harmony and the role a family can play in maintaining these. 
• The Global Family Day celebrates the whole world as a family and the observation started as the United Nations Millennium celebration, “One Day In Peace”. 
• The day originally supported the efforts to promote the date included a 1996 children’s book One Day In Peace, 2000 and was started in United States by Linda Grover. 

Global Family Day Significance

• GLOBAL FAMILY DAY 2024: Many efforts are being made by people in the different part of the world to create peace and harmony and make the planet a better place to live. 
• By considering the world to be a village where every person is a member of a global family, less violence and more peace can be experienced in the world.
• The Global Family Day celebrates this relation between world peace, communities and families. Another idea involved with the Global Family Day is that the efforts made toward peace in the world are directly related to the support of the family.
• Families who stay and spend their time together can offer strength and support to each member and this help in creating stability. This stability can get transferred to the communities around the world thus bringing world peace.

History of Global Family Day Observation

• GLOBAL FAMILY DAY 2024: The first critical step towards observance of Global Family Day was taken in 1997 when the United Nations General Assembly began making plans for launching the International Decade for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World. 
• A major initiative in this effort was taken with the launch of a book sponsored by Linda Grover, called “One Day in Peace – January 1, 2000”. The book revolved around the idea that some day in the future there could be a time when there is no more war on the planet. With the book, the idea for the decade of peace also got launched by the UN.
• As the idea for the decade of peace continued to grow, it was decided by the United Nations member states to dedicate January 1st 2001 as the global day to making efforts toward building peace on the planet. 
• The day and the events following were quite successful and gained attention from every corner of the world. As such, the United Nations decided to make it an annual event beginning in 2001 and named it Global Family Day. The first Global Family Day was celebrated on January 1, 2001 and has been observed every year since.
