• தேசிய மாசுக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு தினம் 2023 / NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY 2023: அதிகரித்து வரும் மாசுபாடு இந்தியா மற்றும் பல நாடுகளுக்கு பெரும் கவலையாக உள்ளது. மாசுபாட்டை கட்டுப்படுத்த அரசு அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளையும் எடுத்து வருகிறது.

• இந்தியாவில், ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 2 ஆம் தேதி தேசிய மாசுக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. போபால் விஷவாயு சோகத்தில் உயிரிழந்த ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மக்களை நினைவுகூரவும், கௌரவிக்கவும் இந்த நாள் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 1984 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 2 மற்றும் 3 ஆம் தேதி இரவில் நடந்த மிகப்பெரிய தொழில்துறை பேரழிவுகளில் இதுவும் ஒன்றாகும்.

• தேசிய மாசுக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு தினம் 2023 / NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY 2023: போபால் வாயு சோகம் அல்லது போபால் பேரழிவு என்பது 1984 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 2 மற்றும் 3 ஆம் தேதிகளில் இந்தியாவின் மத்தியப் பிரதேசத்தின் போபாலில் உள்ள யூனியன் கார்பைடு இந்தியா லிமிடெட் (UCIL) ஆலையில் நடந்த ஒரு இரசாயன விபத்து ஆகும். இந்த இரசாயன விபத்து உலகின் மிக மோசமான ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்பட்டது. எல்லா காலத்திலும் தொழில்துறை பேரழிவுகள்.
• யூனியன் கார்பைடு கார்ப்பரேஷன் ஆலையில் இருந்து 45 டன்களுக்கும் அதிகமான மெத்தில் ஐசோசயனேட் (எம்ஐசி) கசிந்து, அப்பகுதியைச் சுற்றியுள்ள ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மக்களை உடனடியாகக் கொன்றது. 
• இந்த விஷ வாயு வெளியேறியதால் 20,000 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் இறந்ததாகவும், சுமார் 558,125 பேர் காயமடைந்ததாகவும் பல்வேறு நோய்களால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.

• தேசிய மாசுக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு தினம் 2023 / NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY 2023: தேசிய மாசுக்கட்டுப்பாட்டு நாள் 2023க்கான கருப்பொருள் "சுத்தமான மற்றும் ஆரோக்கியமான கிரகத்திற்கான நிலையான வளர்ச்சி" என்பதாகும்.

• NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY 2023: The increasing pollution is a major concern for India as well as many other nations. The government is taking every possible step to control the pollution. However, it is also important for every human being to become conscious of the pollution effects and the precautions to be taken to protect the mother nature.
• People need to understand the causes of pollution and ways to reduce it to make a better world without Pollution. As per the survey, out of the top most polluted cities in the world, 13 cities belong to India. These disturbing statistics shows the need for National Pollution Control Day in India.
• Therefore, the Government of India has announced December 2nd as National Pollution Control Day which is celebrated every year in India.
• In India, the National Pollution Control Day is celebrated on the 2nd of December every year. The day is recognized to remember and honor the thousands of people who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. It was one of the huge industrial disasters that happened on the night of 2nd and 3rd December in 1984.

Importance of 2nd December

• NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY 2023: The Bhopal Gas Tragedy or Bhopal disaster was a chemical accident that took place at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India on 2nd and 3rd December 1984. This chemical accident was considered to be one of the world’s worst industrial disasters of all time.
• Over 45 tons of methyl isocyanate (MIC) leaked from the Union Carbide Corporation plant and instantly killed thousands of people around the area. It is claimed that more than 20,000 people were died and around 558,125 people injured and suffering from various diseases due to the release of this poisonous gas.
• With the high death rate and non-fatal injuries, the Bhopal Gas Tragedy was observed by raising awareness through National Pollution Control Day on the day it took away the lives of many innocent people.
