மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் 2023 / HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: 1948 ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே நாளில் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச் சபையால் மனித உரிமைகள் பற்றிய உலகளாவிய பிரகடனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதன் நினைவாக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 10 ஆம் தேதி மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் 4 டிசம்பர் 1950 அன்று பொதுச் சபையின் 317 வது முழுக் கூட்டத்தில் முறையாக நிறுவப்பட்டது. மனித உரிமைகள் அடிப்படை உரிமைகள் அல்லது வாழ்வதற்கான உரிமை, சுகாதாரம், கல்வி, பேச்சு மற்றும் எண்ணங்களின் சுதந்திரம் மற்றும் சம உரிமைகள் போன்ற சுதந்திரங்களைக் குறிக்கின்றன.

உலகில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொரு நபரும், இனம், நிறம், மதம், பாலினம், மொழி அல்லது சமூக அந்தஸ்து ஆகியவற்றைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல், அடிப்படை மனித உரிமைகளுக்கு உரிமை உண்டு.

இந்த ஆண்டும் மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் 2023 அதே நிகழ்ச்சி நிரலுடன், அதாவது அடிப்படை மனித உரிமைகளைப் பாதுகாக்கவும் மேம்படுத்தவும் கொண்டாடப்படும்.

மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் 2023 / HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: உலக இரண்டாம் உலகத்தின் கொடுமைக்குப் பிறகு, அடிப்படை மனித உரிமைகளை சர்வதேச முன்னுரிமையாக மாற்றுவது முக்கியமானதாக உணரப்பட்டது.
உலகப் போர் முடிந்து 1945 இல் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை உருவாக்கப்பட்டது மற்றும் 1948 இல் அதன் பொதுச் சபை மனித உரிமைகளுக்கான உலகளாவிய பிரகடனத்தை (UDHR) ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது.

மனித உரிமைகள் தினம் 2023 / HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: டிசம்பர் 10, 2023, மனித உரிமைக்கான உலகளாவிய பிரகடனத்தின் 76வது ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் குறிக்கும்.
இந்த மைல்கல்லை அடைவதற்கு ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு, UDHR ஐ அதன் மரபு, பொருத்தம் மற்றும் செயல்பாட்டின் மீது கவனம் செலுத்துவதன் மூலம், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை டிசம்பர் 10, 2023 அன்று ஒரு வருட கால பிரச்சாரத்தை தொடங்கும்.

HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: Every year Human Rights Day is observed on December 10 to commemorate the adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on the same day in 1948.
The day is observed internationally with events, seminars and other activities conducted by organizations all over the world. Human Rights Day was formally established at the 317th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly on 4 December 1950. Human rights refer to basic rights or freedoms such as right to live, health, education, freedom of speech and thoughts, and equal rights.

Significance of Human Rights Day 2023
HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: Human Rights Day is observed with the objective to promote peace, equality, justice and to protect basic human rights andensure freedom. Every person in the world, irrespective ofrace, color, religion, sex, language, or social status, is entitled to basic human rights.
To ensure every individual identify these rights and to emphasize on the need for their protection, United Nations has declared the observation of Human Rights Day.
This year too Human Rights Day 2023 will be celebrated with the same agenda, i.e, to protect and promote basic human rights. Human Rights Day also commemorates the adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948.
History
HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: After the cruelty of World World II, it was felt important to make basic human rights an international priority. The United Nations was formed in 1945 after the World War was over and in 1948 its General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights sets out the fundamental human rights that should be universally protected. The UDHR was adopted on December 10, 1948.
Following this, the Assembly passed a resolution, resolution 423(V), in 1950, inviting all States and interested organizations to adopt 10 December as Human Rights Day.
The declaration was passed and adopted by the Member States unanimously and the Human Rights Day was finally established on 4 December 1950. The first Human Rights Day was thus observed on December 10, 1950.
Human Rights Day 2023 Theme
HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2023: December 10 2023 will mark the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Right. A year before reaching this milestone, the United Nations will launch a year-long campaign on December 10, 2023 to showcase the UDHR by focusing on its legacy, relevance and activism.
The campaign “seeks to shift the needle of understanding and action towards greater knowledge of the universality of the UDHR and the activism associated with it”.
