• உலகிலேயே வாழ்வதற்கு சிறந்த நகரங்கள் 2023 / BEST CITIES TO LIVE IN WORLD 2023: சர்வதேச அளவில் முதல் 50 இடங்களில் ஒரு இந்திய நகரம் கூட இடம்பெறவில்லை. உலகிலேயே வாழ்வதற்கு சிறந்த நகரங்கள் என்ற பட்டியலை மெர்சர் நிறுவனம் ஆண்டுதோறும் வெளியிட்டு வருகிறது. 
• வாழ்வதற்கான செலவு, அரசியல் நிலைத்தன்மை, மருத்துவ வசதி, கல்வி, கட்டமைப்பு, சமூக கலாச்சார சூழ்நிலை ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் இந்த பட்டியல் தயாரிக்கப்படுவதாக அந்த நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. நடப்பாண்டுக்கான சிறந்த நகரங்களின் பட்டியலை தற்போது வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
• இதில் சர்வதேச அளவில் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் உள்ள வியன்னா நகரம் முதல் இடத்தை பிடித்துள்ளது. அடுத்தடுத்த இடஙக்ளில் சுவிட்சர்லாந்தின் சூரிச், நியூசிலாந்தின் ஆக்லாண்ட் ஆகிய நகரங்கள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. இந்த பட்டியலில் முதல் 150 இடங்களில் ஒரு இந்திய நகரமும் இடம்பெறவில்லை. 
• இந்தியாவை பொறுத்தவரை ஐதராபாத் இந்த பட்டியலில் முதல் இடத்தை பிடித்துள்ளது. சர்வதேச அளவிலான பட்டியலில் ஐதராபாத் 153வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. புனே, பெங்களூரு, சென்னை, மும்பை, உள்ளிட்ட நகரங்கள் இந்திய அளவில் அடுத்தடுத்த இடங்களில் உள்ளன.
• வாழ்வதற்கான செலவுகள் அதிகம் உள்ள நகரங்களின் பட்டியலும் வெளியிபப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தியாவில் மும்பை, டெல்லி, சென்னை ஆகிய நகரங்கள் இந்த பட்டியலில் முதல் 3 இடங்களை பிடித்துள்ளன. அடுத்தடுத்த இடத்தில் பெங்களூரு, ஐதராபாத், கொல்கத்தா, புனே, ஆகிய நகரங்கள் உள்ளன. 
• அனைத்து வசதிகளும் எளிதாக கிடைப்பதாலும் செலவு குறைவாக இருப்பதாலும் ஐதராபாத்துக்கு பிகுடிப்பெயர்வோர் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துள்ளது. மேலும் வெளிநாடுகளில் இருந்து கல்வி பயில மாணவர்கள் வருவதும் அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
• ஏற்கனவே 2015 முதல் 2019 வரை ஐதராபாத் இந்த பட்டியலில் இந்திய அளவில் தொடர்ந்து முதல் இடத்தை பெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. 2019ம் ஆண்டுடன் ஒப்பிடும் போது, ஐதராபாத் 143வது இடத்தில் இருந்து 153வது இடத்திற்கு சறுக்கி இருந்தாலும் அனைத்து தர நிலைகளிலும் மற்ற இந்திய நகரங்களை விட சிறந்த நகரமாக இருந்து வருவதாக மெர்சர் ஆய்வு அறிக்கை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

• BEST CITIES TO LIVE IN WORLD 2023: Not a single Indian city features in the top 50 internationally. Every year, Mercer publishes a list of the best cities to live in the world. 
• According to the agency, the list is prepared on the basis of cost of living, political stability, medical facilities, education, infrastructure and socio-cultural environment. The list of the best cities for the current year has just been released.
• Internationally, the city of Vienna in Australia has taken the first place. The next places are Zurich, Switzerland and Auckland, New Zealand. Not a single Indian city featured in the top 150 on the list. 
• For India, Hyderabad has topped the list. Hyderabad is ranked 153rd in the international ranking. Cities such as Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, etc. are in the following places in India.
• A list of cities with the highest cost of living has also been released. Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai are the top 3 cities in India. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune are the next cities. 
• Due to the easy availability of all facilities and low cost, the number of migrants to Hyderabad has increased. Also, the number of students from foreign countries has also increased.
• It is noteworthy that already from 2015 to 2019, Hyderabad has consistently won the first place in this list in India. Compared to 2019, Hyderabad has slipped from 143rd to 153rd place, but still outperforms other Indian cities on all criteria, according to a Mercer survey report.
