Industrial sector production growth declined to 5.80 percent
  • The country's industrial production growth has seen a decline to 5.80 percent in September last year. This has increased to 10.30 percent in the previous month of August. 
  • In the period from April to September in the current financial year, the growth of industrial production was 7.10 percent in the same period of the previous year, and has seen a decline to six percent in the current financial year, according to the National Statistics Office.
  • The manufacturing sector, which contributes 77 per cent to the country's industrial sector, grew by 4.50 per cent in September this year, up from two per cent in September last year. 
  • Electricity generation growth has seen a rise of 9.90 percent. During the same period, the production of the power sector has seen a slowdown from 11.60 percent growth to 9.90 percent. As for mining production growth, it has increased to 11.50 percent from 5.20 percent in September last year.

  • The world population in the year 2000 was 600 crores. Now it has increased to 800 crores. The average age of people has increased to 32. By 2060, it will rise to 39. In countries like Canada, the death rate of the elderly has decreased significantly. While the world population growth rate has doubled between 1960-2000, it has now decreased.
