• 2023ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான இலக்கியத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசு / NOBEL PRIZE FOR LITERATURE 2023: நோபல் பரிசு ஸ்வீடனின் ஸ்டாக்ஹோமில் உள்ள ஸ்வீடிஷ் அகாடமியால் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. 1895 இல் ஆல்பிரட் நோபலின் விருப்பப்படி நிறுவப்பட்ட ஐந்து நோபல் பரிசுகளில் இதுவும் ஒன்றாகும்.
• குரலற்றவர்களின் குரலாக உள்ள அவரது புதுமையான நாடகங்கள் மற்றும் உரைநடைக்காக இந்த நோபல் பரிசு அவருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது என ஸ்வீடிஸ் அகாடமி கூறியுள்ளது.

• 64 வயதாகும் ஜான் ஃபோஸ் எழுதிய முதல் நாவலான 'சிவப்பு, கருப்பு' (Raudt, svart) 1983ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியானது. உணர்ச்சிபூர்வமான அந்த நாவல் தற்கொலையை கருப்பொருளாகக் கொண்டது. பல வழிகளில், அவரது பிற்கால படைப்புகளுக்கு முன்னோடியாக அமைந்தது எனவும் நோபல் பரிசு அறிக்கை கூறியது.
• புகழ்பெற்ற நாடக ஆசிரியர் ஹென்றிக் இப்சனுக்குப் பிறகு நார்வே நாட்டில் அதிக முறை அரங்கேற்றப்பட்ட நாடகங்கள் இவருடையவை. 2022ஆம் ஆண்டில் இவரது A New Name: Septology VI-VII என்ற நாவல் புக்கர் பரிசுக்கான இறுதிப்பட்டியலில் இடம்பெற்றிருந்தது. சொந்தப் படைப்புகள் மட்டுமின்றி, 2011ஆம் ஆண்டில் பைபிளையும் தனது நார்வே பாஷையில் மொழிபெயர்த்து வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்.

• NOBEL PRIZE FOR LITERATURE 2023: The Nobel Prize is awarded by the Swedish Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the five Nobel Prizes established in 1895 by the will of Alfred Nobel.
• The Swedish Academy said the Nobel Prize is being awarded to him for his innovative plays and prose as a voice for the voiceless.
• "Writing in the Norwegian Nynorsk language, he has produced a large body of work, including plays, novels, poetry collections, essays, children's books, and translations.
• "One of the most widely known playwrights in the world today, he is also widely recognized for his prose," the Nobel Prize statement said.
• Raudt, svart, the first novel written by 64-year-old John Fosse, was published in 1983. The emotional novel deals with the theme of suicide. In many ways, the Nobel Prize was said to be a precursor to his later work.
• His plays are the most performed in Norway after the famous playwright Henrik Ibsen. In 2022, his novel A New Name: Septology VI-VII was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. In addition to his own works, he also translated and published the Bible in his Norwegian language in 2011.
