- Chief Minister M. K. Stalin released the Tamil Nadu Innovation and Innovation Policy. Subsequently, the Tamil Nadu Scheduler also issued approval orders for equity investment of Rs.10.85 crore in 8 selected industrial companies under the Tribal Innovation Fund Scheme.

- Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Maghwal introduced the Women's Reservation Bill, known as the Worship of Women Power Act, in the Lok Sabha. A detailed discussion took place on this bill.
- The polls were held after political debates by the opposition parties. 454 voted in favor of the bill and two voted against. It is said that two MPs belonging to the AIMIM party voted against it.
- Following this, the historic Women's Reservation Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. After the completion of census work and re-delineation of Lok Sabha constituencies, the Women's Reservation Act will come into effect if this Bill is passed by both Houses and becomes law, the number of women MPs in the Lok Sabha will increase from the existing 81 to 181. The number of women in state assemblies will also increase.
