ஏராளமான ஜெகநாத பக்தர்கள் தேர்களை இழுத்து, சாலைகளை துடைப்பம் கொண்டு சுத்தம் செய்து, சந்தனத்தை எங்கும் தூவி, பக்தி பாடல்கள் இசைக்கப்பட்டு, பக்தர்கள் நடனமாடி, ஜெகநாதருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையும் நன்றியையும் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.
பக்தர்கள் தேர்களை அடையும் முன் குண்டிச்சா கோயிலை சுத்தம் செய்கிறார்கள். ஜகந்நாதரின் தேர் நந்திகோஷா என்றும், 16 சக்கரங்கள் கொண்டதாகவும், பாலபத்ரரின் தேர் தலத்வாஜா என்றும், 14 சக்கரங்களைக் கொண்டது என்றும், சுபத்ரா தேவியின் தேர் 12 சக்கரங்கள் கொண்ட தர்படலன் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. அர்ஜுன் சுபத்ராவின் தேர்களின் சாரதியாக மாறுகிறார் என்றும் அது இரண்டு தேர்களுக்கு நடுவில் இருப்பதாகவும் நம்பப்படுகிறது.

Jagannath Rath Yatra 2023: Significance

On this auspicious day, the idols of Balram, Jagannath and Subhadra come out from the Puri Jagannath Temple. Devotees place the idols on big chariots. After that, they use thick ropes and are pulled by the devotees all over the city.
It is believed that by pulling the chariots, Lord Jagannath blesses the devotees with great happiness, prosperity and these people get rid of all the obstacles and attain salvation.
Jagannath Rath Yatra 2023: Rituals
JAGANNATH PURI RATH YATRA 2023: First the chariots visit to Gundicha Temple and stops at Mausi Maa Temple, and they are offered different types of food. The three chariots stay there for another 7 days and after staying there for seven day they again come back to the Jagannath Temple.
Before starting the rituals, three chariots are decorated with different styles and these chariots are carried out by priests. It is considered to be highly auspicious to pull the chariots.
A large number of Lord Jagannath devotees pulled the chariots, clean the roads with broom and sprinkle sandal itra everywhere, devotional songs are played and devotees dance and show their happiness and gratitude to Lord Jagannath.
Devotees clean the Gundicha Temple before reaching the chariots. Lord Jagannath's chariot is known as Nandighosha and which has 16 wheels, Lord Balabhadra's chariot is known as Taladhwaja and it has 14 wheels and the chariot of Goddess Subhadra is called as Darpadalan, which has 12 wheels. It is believed that Arjun becomes the Sarathi of Subhadra's chariots and it remains in between the two chariots.
Why the idols of Lord Jagannath are incomplete?
