- ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபை, அமைதி மற்றும் வளர்ச்சிக்கான கல்வியின் பங்கைக் கொண்டாடும் வகையில், ஜனவரி 24ஆம் தேதியை சர்வதேச கல்வி தினமாக அறிவித்தது. முதல் IED 2019 இல் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

- இதையடுத்து 2019 முதல் சர்வதேச கல்வி நாள் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது. ஐந்தாவது சர்வதேச கல்வி நாள் நாளை மறுநாள் 24 ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்பட உள்ள நிலையில், இந்த நாளை ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளுக்கு அர்ப்பணிப்படுவதாக ஐ.நா. கல்வி, அறிவியல் மற்றம் கலாசார அமைப்பான யுனெஸ்கோ அறிவித்துள்ளது.
- ஆப்கன் பெண்களுக்கு மறுக்கப்பட்ட கல்வி திரும்ப வழங்கப்படுவதை வலியுறுத்தும் நோக்கில் ஐ.நா. தலைமையகங்களில் அன்றைய நாள் கருத்தரங்கங்கள் நடத்தப்படும் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- ஐந்தாவது சர்வதேச கல்வி தினம் 24 ஜனவரி 2023 அன்று "மக்களில் முதலீடு செய்ய, கல்விக்கு முன்னுரிமை" என்ற கருப்பொருளின் கீழ் கொண்டாடப்படும்.
- 2022 செப்டம்பரில் ஐ.நா. மாற்றும் கல்வி உச்சிமாநாட்டால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட உலகளாவிய உந்துதலைக் கட்டியெழுப்ப, இந்த ஆண்டு கல்வியைச் சுற்றி வலுவான அரசியல் அணிதிரட்டலைப் பேணுவதற்கும் அர்ப்பணிப்புகளையும் உலகளாவிய முன்முயற்சிகளையும் செயல்பாட்டிற்கு மாற்றுவதற்கான வழியை விளக்குவதற்கும் இந்த நாள் அழைப்பு விடுக்கும்.
- உலகளாவிய மந்தநிலை, வளர்ந்து வரும் ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகள் மற்றும் காலநிலை நெருக்கடி ஆகியவற்றின் பின்னணியில் அனைத்து நிலையான வளர்ச்சி இலக்குகளை நோக்கி முன்னேற்றத்தை விரைவுபடுத்த கல்விக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

- 24th January is celebrated as International Education Day every year. The resolution regarding International Education Day was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 3rd December 2018. International Education Day is being celebrated since 2019.
- As the fifth International Education Day is celebrated tomorrow on the 24th, the UN has dedicated the day to Afghan women and girls. According to UNESCO, the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Education remains in a situation of crisis: six out of 10 children cannot read and understand a simple story at age 10; 244 million children and youth are still out of school while the number of young people in employment fell by 34 million in 2020 at a higher percentage rate than that for adults.
