- இந்தியாவில் சிறப்பான முறையில் பணியாற்றிய பாதுகாப்புப் படை பிரிவுகளுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் அங்கீகாரம் இது.
- 1951ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய கடற்படைக்கு இந்த அங்கீகாரம் முதல்முதலாக வழங்கப்பட்டது. இதுவரை கடற்படை மற்றும் விமானப்படையின் பிரிவுகள் இந்த அங்கீகாரத்தை பெருமளவு பெற்றுள்ளன. ஆனால், இந்திய மாநிலங்களின் காவல்துறைகள் இதைப் பெறுவது அரிதாகவே நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.
- தென்னிந்தியாவில் முதல்முறையாக தமிழ்நாடுதான் இந்த அங்கீகாரத்தை பெற்றுள்ளது. தமிழ்நாடு உட்பட இதுவரை 10 மாநிலங்கள் இந்த அங்கீகாரத்தை பெற்றுள்ளன.
- உத்தர பிரதேசம், மகாராஷ்டிரா, இமாசல பிரதேசம், குஜராத், ஜம்மு காஷ்மீர், திரிபுரா, ஹரியானா, டெல்லி, அசாம் ஆகியவை இந்த அங்கீகாரத்தை பெற்ற பிற மாநிலங்கள் ஆகும்.
- உண்மையில் இந்த விருது பெறும் ஐந்தாவது இந்திய மாநிலம் தமிழ்நாடுதான். தமிழ்நாடு காவல்துறை கடந்த 2009ஆம் ஆண்டு தனது 150ஆவது ஆண்டை கொண்டாடியது. அதை முன்னிட்டு தமிழ்நாடு காவல்துறைக்கு இந்த அங்கீகாரம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
- அதுதான், 13 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு இன்று தமிழக காவல்துறையிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- It is a recognition given to units of the Defense Forces who have served India with distinction. In 1951, this recognition was first given to the Indian Navy. So far units of the Navy and Air Force have largely received this recognition. But this has rarely been achieved by police forces in Indian states.
- For the first time in South India, Tamil Nadu has received this recognition. So far 10 states including Tamil Nadu have received this recognition.
- Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura, Haryana, Delhi, Assam are other states which have received this recognition. In fact, Tamil Nadu is the fifth Indian state to receive this award.
- Tamil Nadu Police celebrated its 150th year in 2009. In view of that, the Tamil Nadu Police was notified of this recognition. That is, today after 13 years it has been handed over to the Tamil Nadu Police.
