உலக மக்கள்தொகை தினம் / WORLD POPULATION DAY

• 1987 ஜூலை 11-ம் தேதி உலக மக்கள்தொகை 500 கோடியை எட்டியது. அந்நாளே உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இன்று (ஜூலை 11) 36-வது உலக மக்கள்தொகை தினமாகும்.
• நாட்டின் முதல் மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 1872-ம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்றது. அதன் பிறகு, 1881-ம் ஆண்டு முதல் 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒருமுறை மக்கள்தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
• 16-வது மக்கள்தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 2021-ம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற வேண்டிய நிலையில், கரோனா பரவல் காரணமாக 2 ஆண்டுகளாக மக்கள்தொகை கணக்கெடுப்புப் பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படாமல் உள்ளன.
• 20-ம் நூற்றாண்டின் தொடக்கத்தில் 20 கோடியாக இருந்த நாட்டின் மக்கள்தொகை நூறாண்டுகளில் 100 கோடியாகவும், 165 கோடியாக இருந்த உலக மக்கள்தொகை 600 கோடியாகவும் அதிகரித்தது. 2011-ல் உலக மக்கள்தொகை 700 கோடியாக அதிகரித்து, தற்போது 800 கோடியை நெருங்கி வருகிறது.
• மக்கள்தொகை அதிகரித்து வந்தாலும் மக்கள் பெருக்கம் (பிறப்பு வீதம்) கணிசமாக கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. உலக மக்கள்தொகை பெருக்கம் 2016-ல் 1.14 சதவீதம், 2017-ல் 1.12 சதவீதம், 2018-ல் 1.09 சதவீதமாக இருந்தது. இது 2023-ம் ஆண்டில் 1 சதவீதமாக குறையும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

• ஐ.நா., சபை அறிக்கையின் படி, உலகில் ஒரு நாளைக்கு 800க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பெண்கள் பிரசவத்தின் போது இறக்கின்றனர் என மதிப்பிட்டுள்ளது. 
• இதற்கு சுகாதார வசதி குறைவும் ஒரு காரணம். உயிரிழப்பு இல்லாத பிரசவம் நடப்பதற்கு, உரிய சுகாதார வசதிகளை ஒவ்வொரு அரசும் ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

பாதிப்புகள்

• மக்கள் தொகை அதிகரிப்பதால் நாட்டில் குடிநீர் பற்றாக்குறை, சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதிப்பு, வேலை வாய்ப்பின்மை, சுகாதாரம், உணவு, கல்வி, போக்குவரத்து, இடப்பற்றாக்குறை, பொருளாதார நெருக்கடி ஆகிய பிரச்னைகள் ஏற்படுகின்றன. 
• இதற்கு குடும்பக்கட்டுப்பாடுகள் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை அரசு மக்களுக்கு ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும். மக்கள்தொகை பற்றிய கல்வி, பள்ளிகளில் இடம் பெற வேண்டும்.

உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினம் 2022 தீம்

• 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டின் உலக மக்கள்தொகை தினத்தின் கருப்பொருள் "8 பில்லியனின் உலகம்: அனைவருக்கும் ஒரு நெகிழ்வான எதிர்காலத்தை நோக்கி - வாய்ப்புகளைப் பயன்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் அனைவருக்கும் உரிமைகள் மற்றும் தேர்வுகளை உறுதி செய்தல்" என்பதாகும்.

• On July 11, 1987, the world population reached 5 billion. That day is observed as World Population Day. Today (July 11) is the 36th World Population Day. The first census of the country was conducted in 1872. Since then, census has been conducted every 10 years since 1881. 
• While the 16th census is scheduled to be held in 2021, the census work has not been carried out for 2 years due to the spread of corona virus.
• The country's population increased from 20 crores at the beginning of the 20th century to 100 crores over the centuries and the world population from 165 crores to 600 crores. In 2011, the world's population increased to 700 million and is now approaching 800 million.
• Although the population is increasing, the population growth (birth rate) has been significantly limited. World population growth was 1.14 percent in 2016, 1.12 percent in 2017 and 1.09 percent in 2018. This is expected to decrease to 1 percent by 2023.
• Similarly, the population of Tamil Nadu in 1901 was 1.92 crore. Subsequently, 3.01 crores in 1951, 3.3 crores in 1961, 22.3 per cent increase in the period 1960 to 1970, and 4.11 crores in 1971. Thereafter, population growth was partially controlled by intensive family planning programs, reaching 4.8 crore in 1981.
• Subsequently, the population of Tamil Nadu, which was 5.5 crore in 1991, 6.24 crore in 2001, and 7.24 crore in 2011, is now estimated to be over 8 crore. The population of Tamil Nadu has doubled in the last 50 years.
• According to the UN, the council estimates that more than 800 women die in childbirth every day in the world. One of the reasons for this is lack of health facilities. Every state should provide adequate health facilities for safe delivery.

Effects

• Due to the increase in population, there are problems such as lack of drinking water, environmental damage, lack of employment opportunities, health, food, education, transportation, lack of space and economic crisis in the country.
• For this, the government should create awareness among the people about family planning. Education about population should take place in schools.
