- உலக மக்கள் தொகை பெருக்கம் 2022 அறிக்கையை ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் பொருளாதார மற்றும் சமூக விவகாரத் துறை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
- அதில் நவம்பர் 12, 2022-ல் உலக மக்கள் தொகை 800 கோடியாக உயர்ந்திருக்கும் என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது. தற்போது இந்தியாவின் மக்கள் தொகை 141 கோடியே 20 லட்சமாகவும், சீனாவின் மக்கள் தொகை 142 கோடியே 60 லட்சமாகவும் உள்ளது. இந்த எண்ணிக்கையை இந்தியா அடுத்த ஆண்டு மிஞ்சிவிடும் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- தற்போதைய கணக்கீட்டின்படி 2030-ம் ஆண்டில் உலக மக்கள் தொகை 850 கோடியாக இருக்கும். அதற்கடுத்து 2050-ம் ஆண்டில் 970 கோடியாகவும் உயரும் என கணித்துள்ளது.
- உலகில் ஆயிரம் கோடி மக்கள் தொகை எண்ணிக்கை 2080-ம் ஆண்டில் எட்டப்படும் என்றும் இதே நிலை 2100 வரை நீடிக்கும் என்று கணித்துள்ளது.
- உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினம் ஜூலை 11-ம் தேதி கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த நாளில் இப்பூவுலகில் 800 கோடி மக்கள் நெருங்கவுள்ளனர். இந்த நாளில் பலதரப்பட்ட மக்களும் மேம்பட்ட வாழ்வியல் சூழலை எட்டி நீண்ட ஆயுளுடன் வாழும் நிலையை எட்டியுள்ளனர்.
