- உலக வானொலி தினம் 2023 / WORLD RADIO DAY 2023: ஐ.நா.வின் கல்வி , அறிவியல் மற்றும் கலாச்சார அமைப்பு (யுனெஸ்கோ) ஆண்டு தோறும் பிப்ரவரி 13-ம் தேதியை உலக வானொலி தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கிறது.
- கடந்த 2011-ம் ஆண்டு ஐ.நா. 36-வது பொதுச்சபை கூட்டத்தில் முதன்முதலாக ஸ்பெயின், நவம்பர் 3-ம் தேதியை உலக வானொலி தினமாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்தியது. அதன் பின்னர் பிப்ரவரி 13-ம் தேதியை உலக வானொலி தினமாக யுனெஸ்கோ அறிவித்தது.
- நவீன உலகில் தகவல் தொடர்பு சாதனங்கள், டி.வி.மொபைல் , ஸ்மார்ட்போன், ஐ.பேட், இன்டர்நெட் என பல வழிகளில் தகவல் தொடர்பு அதிகரித்துவிட்டபோதிலும், வெகுஜன ஊடகத்தின் (MASS MEDIA) முன்னோடி வானொலி தான்.
- தகவலை மக்களிடம் விரைவாக கொண்டு சேர்ப்பதில் வானொலியின் பங்கு அளவிடற்கரியது. ரேடியஸ் (radius) என்ற லத்தீன் மொழியில் பிறந்தது தான் ரேடியோ என மருவியுள்ளது.
- ஜேம்ஸ் கிளார்க் மாக்ஸ்வெல்,மைக்கேல் பாரடே இரு விஞ்ஞானிகள் மின்காந்த அலைகளை ,ஒலி அலைகளாக மாற்றும் கருவியை கண்டறிந்தனர்.
- இவர்களை பின்பற்றி ஹென்றிச் ஹெர்ட்ஸ் என்பவர், மின்காந்த அலைகளை, டிரான்ஸ்மீட்டராக மாற்றினார். பின்னர், இயற்பிலுக்கான நோபல் பரிசு (1909) பெற்ற இத்தாலியைச் சேர்ந்த கூலில்மோ மார்கொனி, (1874-1937) வானொலியை கண்டறிந்தார்.
- இன்று உலக முழுவதும் ஒருலட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட வானொலி நிலையங்கள் உள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.இன்றும் மக்களுக்கு பல தகவல்களை அளிக்கும் சாதனமாக வானொலியின் சேவை தொடர்கிறது.
- இந்தியா சுதந்திரம் அடைந்துவிட்ட செய்தியை, 1947-ம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி மாதம் அப்போதைய பிரிட்டன் பிரதமராக இருந்த சர். க்ளமன்ட் அட்லி,(1945-1951) வானொலி வாயிலாக அறிவித்ததை, இந்தியர்கள் கேட்டறிந்ததாக சொல்கிறார்கள்.
- முந்தைய காலங்களில் பேரிடர் குறித்த தகவல்கள், போர் அறிவிப்புகள் போன்றவற்றினை ஒலிப்பரப்பு வாயிலாக விரைந்து அளித்தது வானொலி.
- அப்படி இன்றளவும் விரைந்து ஒரு தகவலினை அளிக்கும் சாதனம் ரேடியோ என்றால் அது மிகையாகாது.ஆப்ரிக்கா, ஆசியா, வளைகுடா போன்ற நாடுகளில் இன்று உலக வானொலிதினத்தை கொண்டாட உள்ளனர்.
- உலக வானொலி தினம் 2023 / WORLD RADIO DAY 2023: 13 பிப்ரவரி 2023 அன்று கொண்டாடப்படும் உலக வானொலி தினத்தின் 12வது பதிப்பின் தீம் "வானொலி மற்றும் அமைதி".
- போர், அமைதிக்கான எதிர்ச்சொல்லாக, ஒரு நாட்டிற்குள் உள்ள நாடுகள் அல்லது குழுக்களுக்கு இடையிலான ஆயுத மோதலைக் குறிக்கிறது,

- WORLD RADIO DAY 2023: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) observes February 13 as World Radio Day each year. Last year in 2011 the UN. At the 36th General Assembly, Spain was the first to insist that November 3 be declared World Radio Day. Thereafter, February 13 was declared World Radio Day by UNESCO.
- In the modern world, despite the proliferation of communication devices in many ways, such as TV mobiles, smartphones, iPads, and the Internet, radio is the forerunner of mass media (MASS MEDIA).
- The role of radio in bringing information to the masses quickly is immeasurable. Radio was born in the Latin language radius and has been forgotten as radio. Two scientists, James Clark Maxwell and Michael Faraday, discovered the device that converts electromagnetic waves into sound waves.
- Following in his footsteps was Heinrich Hertz, who converted electromagnetic waves into transmitters. Later, Coulimo Marconi (1874-1937), an Italian who won the Nobel Prize in Physics (1909), invented radio.
- Today, there are more than one million radio stations worldwide. The news of India's independence was announced in February 1947 by the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir. The Indians say they heard what Clement Attlee (1945-1951) announced on the radio.
- In the past, radio broadcasts broadcast disaster information and war announcements. It is no exaggeration to say that radio is still a fast-paced device. Today, countries such as Africa, Asia and the Gulf are celebrating World Radio Day.
- WORLD RADIO DAY 2023: The theme for the 12th edition of the World Radio Day, to be celebrated on 13 February 2023, is "Radio and Peace".
- War, as an antonym to peace, signifies an armed conflict between countries or groups within a country, but may also translate into a conflict of media narratives. The narrative can increase tensions or maintain conditions for peace in a given context - for instance weigh in on the rough or smooth conduct of elections, the rejection or integration of returnees, the rise or tempering of nationalistic fervour, etc.
- In reporting and informing the general public, radio stations shape public opinion and frame a narrative that can influence domestic and international situations and decision-making processes.
