- The Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan extended the One Nation One card scheme to four more states and UT’s Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland and Uttarakhand. With this new move, the scheme has now been enabled in 24 states and UT’s across the country.
- What is the scheme? :Under the scheme “One Nation One Ration Card” a beneficiary of a ration card regardless of their location in the country can avail ration under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) through one of their ration cards. Apart from the above mentioned four states, 20 states have already been integrated with the scheme in the past. Formerly integrated 20 States and UTs are: – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh.
- What is NFSA? :The National Food Security Act 2013 widely known as the Right to Food Act was made into law on 12th September 2013. This act of the Indian Parliament was implemented with the aim to subsidized food grains to approximately two-thirds of the population’s of the country which is nearly 1.2 billion people. There is a various food security programme which runs under NFSA act like, Mid-day meal scheme, Integrated Child Development Services Scheme, and the Public Distribution Scheme. Under PDS (Public Distributed Scheme) beneficiaries are entitled to get grains at very nominal rates. Rice is at 3 Rs. Wheat at 2 Rs. Millets at 1Rs. However Pregnant women, lactating mothers, and certain categories of children are eligible for daily free cereals.

- திட்டம் என்ன? : “ஒன் நேஷன் ஒன் ரேஷன் கார்டு” திட்டத்தின் கீழ், நாட்டில் இருப்பிடத்தைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் ஒரு ரேஷன் கார்டின் பயனாளி தேசிய உணவு பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டத்தின் (என்எஃப்எஸ்ஏ) கீழ் ரேஷன் கார்டுகளில் ஒன்றின் மூலம் ரேஷனைப் பெற முடியும். மேற்கூறிய நான்கு மாநிலங்களைத் தவிர, 20 மாநிலங்கள் கடந்த காலங்களில் இந்த திட்டத்துடன் ஏற்கனவே ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. முன்னர் ஒருங்கிணைந்த 20 மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் யூ.டி.க்கள்: - ஆந்திரா, பீகார், தாத்ரா மற்றும் நகர் ஹவேலி, தமன் & டியு, கோவா, குஜராத், ஹரியானா, இமாச்சலப் பிரதேசம், ஜார்கண்ட், கர்நாடகா, கேரளா, மத்தியப் பிரதேசம், மகாராஷ்டிரா, மிசோரம், ஒடிசா ராஜா , சிக்கிம், தெலுங்கானா, திரிபுரா, மற்றும் உத்தரப்பிரதேசம்.
- NFSA என்றால் என்ன? : உணவுக்கான உரிமைச் சட்டம் என்று பரவலாக அறியப்பட்ட தேசிய உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டம் 2013 செப்டம்பர் 12 ஆம் தேதி சட்டமாக மாற்றப்பட்டது. இந்திய நாடாளுமன்றத்தின் இந்தச் செயல் நாட்டின் மக்கள்தொகையில் சுமார் மூன்றில் இரண்டு பங்கு மக்களுக்கு உணவு தானியங்களை மானியமாக வழங்குவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டது. இது கிட்டத்தட்ட 1.2 பில்லியன் மக்கள். NFSA சட்டத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் பல்வேறு உணவு பாதுகாப்பு திட்டம், மதிய உணவு திட்டம், ஒருங்கிணைந்த குழந்தைகள் மேம்பாட்டு சேவைகள் திட்டம் மற்றும் பொது விநியோக திட்டம். பி.டி.எஸ் (பொது விநியோக திட்டம்) இன் கீழ் பயனாளிகள் மிகவும் பெயரளவு விகிதத்தில் தானியங்களைப் பெற உரிமை உண்டு. அரிசி 3 ரூ. கோதுமை 2 ரூ. 1R களில் தினை. இருப்பினும் கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்கள், பாலூட்டும் தாய்மார்கள் மற்றும் சில வகை குழந்தைகள் தினசரி இலவச தானியங்களுக்கு தகுதியுடையவர்கள்.
